Human services leader Yuni Medlin named Elevate Health’s new board president

Elevate Health announced that Yuni Medlin has been appointed president of its board of directors. As a longtime human services leader with expertise in homeless and homeless prevention programs, low-income housing, and family services, Medlin is well matched with Elevate Health, a nonprofit collaborative dedicated to improving the health and well-being of Pierce County residents.

"As our new board president, Yuni will play a critical role at Elevate Health as we continue to lead collective action toward an equitable and healthy Pierce County,” said Elevate Health Executive Director Gena Morgan. “Her wealth of experience, coupled with her commitment to serving Pierce County, make her a fantastic fit for this role.”

Medlin has a track record of impact and service in the South Sound. She currently serves as the eviction prevention program manager at the Multicultural Child & Family Hope Center. She was previously a program manager at Goodwill of the Olympics & Rainier Region and held multiple roles at LASA (Living Access Support Alliance). Medlin also serves on the board of nonprofit Associated Ministries of Tacoma and Lakewood-based Caring for Kids. She previously served on the board of Springbrook Connection and AWLD Foundation.

Medlin succeeds Heather Moss as Elevate Health board president and will serve a 2-year presidency. Medlin has served on the board since January 2021 and recently completed a term as vice president.

Our mission at Elevate Health is "Everyone, everywhere in Pierce County THRIVING." That last word, *thriving*, is critical to what we do — so we asked Board President Yuni Medlin and a few other Elevate Health board members, staff, and community partners how they would define it.
