Improvement Advisors Receive Critical Training
by Elevate Health July 21, 2018
Improvement Advisors were in Boston the first week of July for the second of three workshops as part of their 10-month Institute for Health Improvement (IHI) Advisor Professional Development Program. Seven members of the train-the-trainer program—representing MultiCare, CHI Franciscan, Community Health Care, Metropolitan Development Council, and Comprehensive Life Resources—are learning to become experts in using the Science of Improvement framework and coaching their organization’s staff in the use of the Model for Improvement. Once trained, they will take the framework back to their organizations. Elevate Health is sponsoring one staff member from each organization in the strategic improvement course. The Boston workshop provides hands-on experience with the Science of Improvement that will help the implementation of improvement projects within each of their organizations. The workshop focuses on tools for measuring improvement, interpreting variation in testing improvement, and the scale-up and spread of well-tested improvement processes. This training increases the capacity of improvement expertise within our partner organizations—expertise that will be needed to implement Medicaid Transformation Projects in 2019 and beyond.
