Elevate Health welcomes partners, community members for Open House

On Tuesday, October 29 more than 100 Pierce County community members packed into Elevate Health’s new Central Tacoma office for the 2024 Open House and Community Care Hub Celebration.

“It was wonderful to see many longtime collaborators and to get to know some folks we’ve only recently connected with,” said Elevate Health spokesperson Zach Powers. “We’re always inspired and motivated by time spent with local advocates, organizers and leaders who are committed to equity and dedicated to improving health and wellness across Pierce County.”

The event included a 20-minute program featuring remarks from Elevate Health Board President Heather Moss and Executive Director Gena Morgan.

“Simply put, Elevate Health is a connecting point for Pierce County organizations to collaborate across sectors on improving health and wellbeing,” Morgan told attendees. “Our ultimate goal is to build an equitable system of whole-person care – where everyone is welcome and there’s no wrong door.”

Speakers also included two longtime Elevate Health collaborators: Mattye Berry Evans from Serving Our Community and Susan Fa'auaa from Pacific Islander Health Alliance NW. Fa'auaa remarked on the positive experience her organization has had partnering with Elevate Health.

“We really enjoy working with the people on the Elevate Health team. They don’t come in with all the answers, instead they listen, engage, and support us,” Fa'auaa said. “I know I can reach out to Elevate when I have questions about resources or anything community related.”

Morgan concluded the program with an invitation to collaborate with Elevate Health, particularly around the Community Care Hub that Elevate Health has been building throughout the last two years.

“In the months ahead the Elevate Health Community Care Hub will be growing, and we’re eager to meet with organizations that share our values and are interested in potentially becoming Hub partners,” Morgan said.
