Gena Morgan to Lead Elevate Health
The Elevate Health Board of Directors is pleased to announce that it has selected Gena Morgan as its new Executive Director. Gena comes to Elevate Health after having served as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) at HealthierHere, King County Accountable Community of Health (ACH) for the past five years.
“Our Board of Directors is thrilled to introduce a leader of Gena’s caliber into our community to guide Elevate Health into the future,” said Joe LeRoy, Elevate Health’s Board Chair. “Gena brings deep knowledge and experience working in the ACH environment, and her desire to lead and grow an ACH with clarity and vision through an equity and community lens impressed us.”
Gena brings over 20 years of experience working in both the public and private sectors with a focus on program and project management, strategic planning, public policy, government relations, communications, leading community driven initiatives, and business operations. She describes herself as a bridge builder, a creative problem solver, and has expertise leading multi-disciplinary teams toward effective change. On developing and maintaining a positive and inclusive organizational culture, Gena shared, “Building an inclusive culture means creating spaces where all voices and perspectives are heard and thoughtfully considered.”
Gena said, “Elevate Health has laid important foundations in Pierce County to address health disparities, yet more is needed. I am excited to work together with board, staff, community, and tribal partners to advance health equity in a way that matters to Pierce County residents. By developing a shared vision, aligning resources, and moving together in collective action, we will elevate the holistic health and wellbeing of our entire community."
With the help of Hagel Executive Search, the search committee recruited candidates from across the country. Heather Moss, the executive search committee chair, and Board Vice Chair, said, “After an extensive vetting and interview process, Gena stood out in her expertise, energy, and servant leadership style.”
