Elevate Health Hosts Successful Integrated Managed Care Kickoff Event

by Elevate Health    July 21, 2018

More than 100 behavioral health peers joined representatives from managed care organizations (MCOs), the Behavioral Health Administrative Services Organization, Pierce County and Elevate Health met on Thursday, June 28, to kickoff the Integrated Managed Care (IMC) Learning Network. Hosted by Elevate Health, the IMC's goal is to provide support and technical assistance to behavioral health organizations as they transition to an integrated managed care payment system.

The event opened with remarks from Steve O’Ban, Senior Counsel for Behavioral Health with the County, Washington State Senator for the 28th Legislative District, and Elevate Health board member. He reiterated Elevate Health's commitment to assist behavioral health providers in the transition set for January 1, 2019.

A popular portion of the program was a panel discussion featuring all of the payers in Pierce County. Current Elevate Health Director of Strategic Improvement, Kathleen Clark, reported on the results of a self-assessment tool completed by 11 behavioral health organizations in identifying gaps and opportunities for assistance.

Said one participant, "The best part of this meeting was having everyone in the room."

“This is such a good start and a tremendous resource for behavioral health providers,” said Clark. “Elevate Health will deliver technical assistance, one-on-one support, and has created a Virtual Learning Network to allow providers and their staff to share experiences and best practices, discuss challenges, and network with peers. It also includes a monthly webinar series with space for peer sharing and expert presentations on topics of interest.”

The newly-launched Elevate Health Virtual Learning Community offers access to tools and resources in support of Medicaid Transformation Projects through the Health Resource Portal. The IMC Learning Network has a team folder where behavioral health providers can share information and resources and ask questions of Network members. The Learning Community launched the first IMC Learning Network webinar on July 17, 2018, and featured a presentation from MCOs on the transition task timeline. The next webinar is scheduled for August 21, 2018.
