Fentanyl
This conversation, sponsored in collaboration with Key Peninsula Healthy Community, the Tacoma-Pierce County Health Department and other local organizations, occurred on Thursday, April 6, 2023, in Vaughn, Wash., with an emphasis on the prevalence of Fentanyl and its effects in the area.

Paul LaKosky, PhD.: is Executive Director of the Dave Purchase Project, NASEN and the Tacoma Needle Exchange. Paul is a cultural anthropologist, long-time public health researcher, and a nationally-recognized authority on harm reduction.Stephanie Wood: is a Program Analyst for the Tacoma-Pierce County Health Department and a data consultant to the County’s Opioid Task Force. Before working at the health department, she worked in harm reduction and human services with people experiencing homelessness, substance use disorder and incarceration.
Leia Snyder: is the Senior Community Outreach Coordinator at Recovery Village in Ridgefield, WA. Leia works to provide support and resources to individuals and businesses looking for substance use and co-occurring mental disorder treatment.
Derek Murphy: is Director of Clinical Services at Olalla Recovery Centers. Derek is a master’s level registered addiction specialist, a federally qualified substance abuse professional, and a member of the Pierce County Opioid Task Force.
Raquel Campuzano: is the Community Outreach Specialist for Pierce County Project Access, a non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization that connects low-income and uninsured individuals to the care they need. Raquel has a diverse background in health care, project management, and leadership.
