Carving is Medicine

For more than 30 years, the Tahoma Indian Center has served as a cultural touchstone for the hundreds of urban natives who live in Pierce County. In 2022, with assistance from Elevate Health and OnePierce Community Resiliency Fund, Tahoma Indian Center commissioned a community carving project aimed at healing, connecting and educating.
