Introducing the OnePierce Community Resiliency Fund: A Renewable Community Asset

By Elevate Health

Elevate Health is proud to announce the formal legal establishment of the OnePIerce Community Resiliency Fund (OnePierce) — a non-profit to address our community’s most pressing health needs beyond the scope of the 1115 Medicaid Waiver. Due to the work by dedicated OnePierce board members, the fund will help secure the future of our work and extend whole-person health throughout Pierce County for years to come.

By the end of 2018, an initial $1.5 million deposit into OnePIerce will seed efforts for continual investment to help improve and maintain health equity, support clinical integration work, fund service gaps, make data-informed investments and bolster private-public partnerships in Pierce County. OnePierce is a unique and innovative solution and the first community fund established by any Accountable Communities of Health organization in Washington.

In its legal motions establishing OnePierce, its board named Elevate Health CEO Alisha Fehrenbacher as its inaugural president and board chair, with MultiCare Health Systems Chief Community Officer Lois Bernstein as its vice chairperson.

“I’m honored and humbled to head our new Community Resiliency Fund. I’m passionate about this work and the benefits it will provide for the people of Pierce County and our entire state,” says Fehrenbacher.

Other OnePierce directors are UnitedHealthCare Community Plan CEO, Doug Bowes, Washington State Senator Steve O’Ban of the 28th Legislative District, and Elevate Health COO/CFO Meg Taylor.

In the coming months, Elevate Health will develop a new name for OnePierce that inspires and encourages community partners to collaborate and contribute to the exciting work we’ll be doing through this fund.
